Details on the Energy Rebate are out. You get an auditor to come to your home, pay about $250 ($150 of which will be reimbursed) for them to tell you what to improve. Then, after you have done it, you get them in again and they calculate your rebate (up to $3,400, averaging about $1,000).
Sign me up - but I don't really know what I will be able to do to in my home to improve energy efficiency. We have a fairly new furnace, this is a fairly small home (duplex). New patio doors? I guess I just want free money, maybe I can 'sabotage' my home before they come in, and then just replace the stuff I broke/removed/hid and get my rebate. "Very good sir, you now have windows. That will save you lots. Here is your $1,000".
