About

This little weblog serves two purposes: First, I want to have a live environment to test the new version of Pivot, as it progresses. Secondly, I needed a place to log about stuff i don't want to bother the readers of my regular weblog with, like news about PHP, browsers, CSS, weblog-tools, webdesign and the like.

+ 0 - 1 | § More Web Crap

I had to remove the r_e_f_e_r_r_e_r_s list (I'm afraid to even spell it) from the front page. No one will miss it except for the casino sites that tried to leave spam notes at a rate of about 200 per minute. As I read somewhere; the ref*rrers list was cool once; but they ruined it; so now it has to go. My web site was actually shut down due to the hits; how silly is that - I think there are less than 10 legitimate views of my site that aren't me per month; and the spammers are hammering it. I've started updating the .htaccess file daily; perhaps that will help. I'm afraid that I may have to move this to my own server rather than the host; so I can lock it down a bit better. Lame.

+ 0 - 2 | § Company claims XML patent enforceable

From this Slashdot post is a link to the story about a small company that claims to have a valid patent on XML This sort of thing really gets on my last nerve. I post from the news.com article:

Charlotte, N.C.-based Scientigo owns two patents (No. 5,842,213 and No. 6,393,426) covering the transfer of "data in neutral forms."

+ 1 - 3 | § Best headache relief EVER

I saw an ad for this Head-On product at the end of Jeopardy. I wasn't watching Jeopardy; just changing the channels to get to E.R.. Anyways; the Head-On product is like a glue-stick that you rub on your head when you have a headache. I know that if I saw someone rubbing this on their head in person; I would no longer have a headache. I think it works by proxy as well.

+ 1 - 3 | § SPAM, beautiful SPAM

I opened my email and had over 430 'bounced' SPAM email in my inbox. I just wanted to give a 'shout out' to the smart lads and ladies who think this makes me want to buy viagra. Seriously; what the hell.

Looks like an easy way to post stuff.  Cool brother, cool!
