The trick here is that webmin doesn't care for the way (k)ubuntu uses sudo; and sets itself up by using a default root password (if I understood the wording correctly). So as (k)ubuntu uses sudo (in a manner I don't care for; but they didn't ask me and I could change it and that's a whole different story) webmin doesn't have any useful password that I can tell when installed using apt-get in (k)ubuntu. The fix I found here courtesy of hndrcks who said:
And fix it it did. Thank you, hndrcks. For my views on why sudo is bad, read on... (more)In /usr/share/webmin/ there is a Perl script called changepass.pl to change root password in webmin use this: # /usr/share/webmin/changepass.pl /etc/webmin root
And that will fix it! No install/removal necessary.

Windows Remote Desktop is a huge timesaver; but you can't always be connecting from a PC with the Remote Desktop Client already installed. What to do? You follow the direction in this article on how to set up Set Up Remote Desktop Web Connection with Windows XP; then you just point your clients Internet Explorer to your PC's Remote Desktop TS web page.

I just finished watching NerdTV Episode 1: Andy Hertzfeld. Great interview for sure. There are audio versions which would get the job done if you wanted to stuff it on your portable device.

Daskeyboard is a black featureless keyboard. Designed to creep out your friends and make your tyoing better. I've tried switching to a Dvorak keyboard more than once; this has sort of the same effect as you don't know what key is what. Supposedly, you learn how to properly touch type rather than peeking at the keys - because peeking won't help. In my case, and judging from past experience; I'd just get frustrated. Although I did just print out a Dvorak layout the other day in anticipation of another attempt at learning the Dvorak layout. (more)
