About

This little weblog serves two purposes: First, I want to have a live environment to test the new version of Pivot, as it progresses. Secondly, I needed a place to log about stuff i don't want to bother the readers of my regular weblog with, like news about PHP, browsers, CSS, weblog-tools, webdesign and the like.

+ 0 - 1 | § My Dark Horse Is Horny

http://www.mydarkhorseishorny.com/ --- I am leery of posting this to my personal site. Suffice it to mention that this is about as arty as it gets. Slightly NSFW. I just don't know what to say.

+ 1 - 0 | § Animating photos

Animating photos by stringing them together can have amusing effects. Here is my first string of my brother: Simon Reading Note that it is about a 1 meg jpg so it will take a minute to load. Not sure why but the software I used Animator9 seemed to introduce a lot of jpeg artifacting. A good example of this sort of thing done about ten million times better than I can: StopMotionStudios.net; the stuff here is amazing.

+ 0 - 1 | § Make your own 3d Photos

You can make your own full-color 3d photos for viewing with the red and green glasses using this fun software Callipygian. You can see my first rushed attempt (that turned out fairly well) from My Gallery. (more)

+ 0 - 1 | § Gigapixel Images

http://www.tawbaware.com/maxlyons/gigapixel.htm ... This link for a massive stitched photo is not new at all; but it is still neat so I am posting it here so I won't loose the link. I lke to hear myself talk. The Dvorak typing is not going so well either; my $9.99 keybaord that I tore the keys off of stopped working and I don't want to try to return it because I took the screws out of the back to see if I could fix it. The end result is that not only have I torn most of the keys off and rearranged them; I have removed the screws and stripped a few of them - now more keys don't work because there is not enough pressure where there should be. Methinks I am out $9.99 plus tax. On the plus side; I can likely salvage the USB plug to power a ... LED? Fan? Something useless.

+ 0 - 1 | § Customized Mozilla builds

http://www.pryan.org/mozilla/seamonkey/djeter/ is where I got my latest build of Mozilla. It seems that people are really favouring Firefox over Mozilla; I like the all-in-one idea and unless Mozilla falls behind I'm going to stick with it. In any case; at the link above there are several builds for various OS's and hardware here. I haven't measured anything, but it sure seems pretty snappy having a i686 compiled version with SSE2 extensions.

+ 1 - 1 | § AntiVir Personal Edition

http://www.free-av.com/ provides a free Anti-Virus for those who may need it. I have not used this; I would like to hear from someone who has so I can say if it is good or not.
