About

This little weblog serves two purposes: First, I want to have a live environment to test the new version of Pivot, as it progresses. Secondly, I needed a place to log about stuff i don't want to bother the readers of my regular weblog with, like news about PHP, browsers, CSS, weblog-tools, webdesign and the like.

+ 0 - 0 | § Article: Simpler pump boosts failing hearts| New Scientist

New artificial hearts do away with that pesky pulse. The pumps that don't try to mimic nature's lub-dub work better with just an impeller just like out of your water cooling rig or aquarium. Well; I bet it is a bit better designed. That would freak some poor nurse out who had no idea you had one of these rigs.

+ 0 - 0 | § Are You Annoying? - Computerworld

Are you an Annoying IT person? I like to think that I am. Ha! I don't know that articles like this are very useful. Maybe that's because I am so god damn smart that I don't have to worry about being annoying. I do know that I can be arrogant, self-righteous and hypocritical; but certainly none of that equates to being annoying. From tyhe article:

"Say someone comes to you and asks you a question today, and they find you annoying," says Bent. "Maybe the next time, they'll ask someone else. Soon people stop coming to you and asking you things, and you end up without a job."

+ 1 - 0 | § Where No Home Theater Has Gone Before

"The Bridge" Home Theatre has to be seen to be believed. It's not my thing; but a hearty bravo to the effort! Make sure you check out the Photo Gallery. I really like the screensaver intro bit.

+ 0 - 0 | § Isn't Now the Time to Try a Linux Desktop?

http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp or, Isn't it Time I made a New Post. Note to self. Install linux again (lost it after the big Drive Failure of '04). Yes, I lost a Western Digital 120gb pata drive not too long ago. Well, not lost exactly but it was failing at an alarming speed. Awaiting RMA as it was just purchased in February.
