About

This little weblog serves two purposes: First, I want to have a live environment to test the new version of Pivot, as it progresses. Secondly, I needed a place to log about stuff i don't want to bother the readers of my regular weblog with, like news about PHP, browsers, CSS, weblog-tools, webdesign and the like.

+ 2 - 0 | § Slashdot | iPod: This Season's Must-Have for Muggers

White Headphones = easy target. If you own an Ipod apparently getting a different set of headhones is a requirement as the white stock Ipod headphones are a blatant advertisement that you are carrying something of value. It's funny because just the other day I saw a guy on the bus with goofy white headphones. Wish I'd realized it was an Ipod; I could have grabbed it.

+ 0 - 1 | § Unreal Tournament 2004 Stats for Cap'n_Compass

My UT2004 stats provide lots of neat information! 1.4 hours of Deathmatch! 51.2% efficiency with the Minigun! 3 falling deaths! 1 Killing Spree! Score is 179! Check back later to see if I get better or worse!

+ 0 - 1 | § HumanDescent -> Gallery

HumanDescent is going to give me nightmares. Great digital image work; melding various animals into creatures that shouldn't really exist. Fun.

+ 2 - 0 | § CNN.com - New DVD burners double capacity - Mar 22, 2004

DVD burners double in capacity so for those of you who recently puchased a drive I guess this is not so good news; but for people like me who have been putting it off this is good news. It either means I get a cheaper single layer burner or a new double layer burner.

+ 0 - 1 | § Japanese Apple Trailer - CASSHERN

Apple Japan Quicktime Trailer - Casshern looks like quite the film. Great look to this one.

+ 1 - 0 | § InfoWorld: UN study: Think upgrade before buying a new PC: March 07, 2004: By : End-user Hardware

1.8 tons of raw material are used to create that desktop PC. Just something to think about.

+ 2 - 1 | § Yamaha VOCALOID®Singing Synthesis Technology

Vocaloid Leon from Yamaha pretty much proves to me that this is the end of the world. Go to the site; read what this does; listen to the sample MP3. The world is getting too Philip K. Dick for me. I won't believe anything anymore.

+ 0 - 2 | § Chameleon Pocket Vault

Pocket Vault replaces all your bank cards with one progarmmable device. It reads your old cards and reprograms itself to mimic whatever card you select on its touch screen. It's about time. Fingerprint biometric, RFID, barcode duplication. Sweet. I am not too keen on paying $200 for it; but I bet some banks might create branded versions. I am sick of my wallet; those who know my know my wallet is about the size of a small game bird.

+ 1 - 1 | § Safe For Work Porn by Edouard Levé

Safe For Work Porn is somewhat ironic because the ultra-politico-correctos would still find this offensive. Great stuff.

+ 1 - 2 | § Steriogram | Walkie Talkie Man

Steriogram | Walkie Talkie Man Rock on, Walkie Talkie Man.

+ 1 - 0 | § Unreal 2004 Special Edition cheap pre-order!

Unreal 2004 Special Edition is on sale at Amazon.ca for 44% off; so that is $49.99 (free shipping) instead of $89.99. The special edition comes with a Logitech Headset and a two dvd disc set. One DVD has the game content, and the other has 150 hours (!) of video on how to make your own levels. Note that I am unsure how long the sale is on for; and the special edition is currently cheaper than the Unreal 2004 (regular) edition at $64.99. You may also be able to find $5 off coupons if you look around.
